Our steps can be simple engineer’s steps to provide easy access to the avionics bay or more sophisticated variable height under-cowl access steps to reach this area on different size aircraft. Our range also includes Aircraft Steps to provide access to the main landing gear, the wheelbay, fan cowl, cargo bay, refuelling points and the APU. Semmco has developed a range of Aircraft Stairs specifically for the popular A320 family of aircraft.

Fixed Height A320 Avionics Engineers Steps 1.25m – with step 0.2m – towable

These aircraft steps provide easy access to the left or right avionics bays and have an additional ‘hop-up’ step for hangar or ramp access. They are lightweight and extremely easy to move into position and are fitted with a tow bar so they can be towed around the airfield. The steps have slip-resistant tread and the platform edge and railings are fitted with ‘soft’ padding to prevent damaging the aircraft.

A320 Wheel Bay/Well Fixed Height Access Platform

These aircraft steps are designed to provide access to the wheel bay/well of an A320 aircraft. The Wheel Bay Access Platform is lightweight and easy to move into position and is fitted with easy action stability jacks. The stair treads have a slip resistant surface and the platform edge and railings are fitted with ‘soft’ padding to protect the aircraft.

A320 Fan Cowl Access Platform 1.1m

These aircraft steps have been designed so that engineers can gain easy access to the fan cowl to carry out maintenance while the aircraft is in the hangar. It is lightweight and can be moved into position by one person and locked into position using the over centre lever action stability jacks.

Bulk Cargo Bay A320 Variable Height 1.7 – 3.0m

These variable height aircraft steps provide easy access to the bulk cargo bay door of the A320 family of aircraft. They can also provide access to service and inspection points in and around both narrow and wide body aircraft and can be used on the ramp or in the hangar.

Variable Height PAX & Windshield 2.5 – 4.5m

These aircraft steps provide easy access to the passenger (PAX) door and the windshield of both the B737 and the A320 family of aircraft. A double action hydraulic pump powers the variable height mechanism that has an incremental increase of 50mm. Our stairs are manufactured from lightweight aluminium and are easy to move into position.

Fixed Height Refueling Access Platform 1.65m (towable)

These refueling aircraft steps ensure the refueling process is easier and safer for the engineers. The platform is fitted with an aircraft refueling nozzle and hose counterbalance system that reduces the total weight of the hose assembly when it is lifted from its storage position. These steps can be towed around the airfield.

To provide maximum safety all of our aircraft steps are fitted with non-slip stair treads and platforms, stability jacks to lock into position and soft padding on the edges and handrails to protect the aircraft.
