Semmco’s access steps can be tailored depending on the specific task and location requirements across the different industries. For aircraft and helicopter maintenance we have solutions that are ideal for use in the hangar and on the line. For the rail industry our range suits the scope of work and access requirements that are carried out on rolling stock.

The different features we offer across our range include:

Unlike competitive products, Semmco’s access steps are renowned for their bolted and plated functionality. This modular system, made of a unique aluminium profile, creates a robust mechanical joint. The alternative option of a welded joint, once fractured or cracked, can be very hard to fix and often results in the entire model having to be replaced. Semmco’s solution across our access steps means that sections that may experience issues can be easily removed and a replacement section provided. This solution is quick and means that customers experience a minor setback as opposed to a piece of equipment that is no longer operational.

These access steps are designed for hangar or ramp use and have a multiple use working platform that provides safe access to engines, wings and passenger doors. The are manufactured from lightweight aluminium and can be easily manoeuvred around aircraft and helicopters.

Variable Height Helicopter Main Rotor Access Platform 1.95 – 2.7m

This variable height platform provides safe access to the helicopter’s rotor and an be used in a hangar or on the ramp. The platform is manufactured from lightweight aluminium and swivel castors enable it to be moved into position, close to the helicopter affording maximim reach.

These access steps provide access to the WiFi, Driver HVAC and enable general roof maintenance. The aluminium construction ensures the steps and platforms are easy to move into position alongside rolling stock and the different configurations means the platform can be adapted to accommodate different trains.

We also offer platforms for general engine access and other more tailored solutions such as our APU platform, created to enable safe removal, inspection, and maintenance of the APU. Our helicopter range offers access to both sides of the rotor area, the helicopter fuse and tail and the engine and gearbox.

Inspection and ongoing maintenance works are carried out in the rail industry with our access steps range that ensure access to the key points – whether it’s front access, side access, or roof access for the WiFi, driver and carriage and the electric pantograph. We understand the scope of tasks required that can include windscreen exchange and wiper motor maintenance, as well as tasks involved with the vestibule doors, destination boards and cyclops.
