Variable Height Rail Front Access Platform H2.1m - 2.75m
Variable Height Front Access Platform designed for the Hitachi Class 800 to provide easy and safe access to the front of the train for inspection and maintenance:
- Windscreen exchange
- Wiper/wiper motor maintenance
- Vestibule doors
- Destination boards and cyclops
Designed to fit on and around Hitachi 800 train vehicles, the variable height system uses a simple low maintenance rack and pinion gear system for height adjustment 2.1 – 2.26m which incorporates a secondary locking system for additional safety.
High stability steel chassis incorporating track wheels makes positioning in and around the train front or nose easy and “rail clamps” safely lock the platform into position. The robust lightweight aluminum construction ensures easy manoeuvering, with triple castor wheels preventing wheels getting stuck in rail gullies while the Platform is moved between rail roads in and around depots.
Two adjustable step ladders on either side of the platform enable safe, easy access onto the platform that provides a large safe working area. Fixed handrails on rear side with left and right side. Each side railing has extendable (0.4m) safety railings with “lift & lock” close fit positioning for additional safety. Slip resistant ladder and platform treads ensure safe access & working at height.
The front section of the platform is profiled to suit the Hitachi train front with easy to adjust side sliding fingers that provide close fit in and around the train with front edge soft padding protecting the train from any accidental impact.
